Name: Steve O
Brewing for: 1 year
Extract, partial, AG: Brewed a few extracts, moving to AG.
Favorite style: Porter, Stouts, Browns
Other Beverages: n/a
Best beer made: Porter
Fun hobbies: Volleyball, firefighter, daddy.

I did a few extract kits but never felt like I really knew what the hell was going on. I felt like I was basically following a recipe that anyone off the street could do. I wanted to REALLY learn more about the whole process and get a better understanding of what's going on. I've been piecing together my all-grain setup for a few months now and plan to christen that equipment this Saturday. I'm planning for total failure, anything better than that is a plus. :)

I also post at East Side Brewers, Garage Brewers, and HomeBrewTalk.

Favorite style: The one in my kegerator; depends on season
Other Beverages: Cider
Best beer made: American Stout, American Pale Ale

Good day 'Brews. I live over in O'Fallon, IL and have been homebrewing for about 13-years now (with a couple of long-term breaks along the way). Just last year I moved to 10-gallon, all-grain from partial mash (and some inadvertent all-grain batches when my efficiency surprised me).

I managed to attend NHC this past year for the first time which was a fantastic experience. I am hoping to find the time to start attending your meetings and possibly join your club.

Cheers,

Timmy

This is the first group that I've started talking with. Plans are to go to a meeting or two and most likely join. Also planning on getting in touch with the Garage Brewers, since they're in my neck of suburbia. Hopefully I'll get over my phobia of someone other than friends or family trying my brew and compete some.

Welcome!

I was leery of having "seasoned" brewers try my stuff too, but you learn so much more about your own brewing processes and how to make them better through it. Your friends and family will lie to your face and say "not bad!" but if it sucks most brewers will tell you that and be able to analyze your techniques and help you figure out WHERE it went south.

How long have you been brewing?: Just Started!
Extract, partial mash or all grain?: Extract on first two batches, but gearing up to start partial mash and possibly all grain.
What is your favorite style to brew/drink?: Brew...do not know yet. I work mainly offshore and the first batch is still bottle conditioning until I get home near the end of April. Drink...stouts, porters, IPAs, and other Pale Ales
What other tasty beverages do you ferment?: Brooke also brews Kombucha which is a very tasty fermented tea.
What's the best beer you think you've made?: Have not tasted the first batch yet, but know the process has already hooked me.

Name: Eric Griffith
How long have you been brewing?: 1.5 years
Extract, partial mash or all grain?: Just switched to all-grain in March, 4 batches so far and I love it. Still refining my technique and adding equipment to make process better.
What is your favorite style to brew/drink?: changes with the seasons, but have 2 IPA's fermenting and planning 2 Saisons this month. I like to drink something new all the time and love it all, but sours...still trying to get over the hump.
What other tasty beverages do you ferment?: none
What's the best beer you think you've made?: So far with all-grain would be a Dry Irish Stout. Extract would be probably a small saison or arrogant bastard clone.
Any other fun hobbies?: most fun is related to beer, but also enjoy sports and writing.

I have been trying to get to a meeting and hope to be there tomorrow. Nervous, but excited to meet some other homebrews. Cheers!

Extract, partial mash or all grain?: Extract. Looking to do maybe one more extract before going partial mash. Of course, getting to all grain is the goal.
What is your favorite style to brew/drink?: It depends. Stouts, IPAs and other various "big beers" are nice, but I can enjoy something like a Helles, Kölsch, Altbier, or Pils just as much, if not more. Really into Bamberg Rauchbier.
What other tasty beverages do you ferment?: none
What's the best beer you think you've made?: Irish Red. To be fair, it's the only one that I have finished. I have a Weissbier fermenting now.
Any other fun hobbies?: Soccer, golf, trying to improve my German (thus the username)
