I'm sure it'll be sucked down at Heritage.

Fair enough. Guess I'll have to try it to see the result!

Take it from someone who has had great success with Crystal Light - Start off on the light side. Begin with enough for a class of Tang in 5 gallons and then step up from there.

For crystal light, I use 2 or 3 of the "single bottle" packets of powder for 5 gallons to make a very strong raspberry flavor. Over do it and it tastes fake and sweet, but enough to show off the tangerine would be ideal.

Also, don't add until a day or two before serving since you will get renewed fermendation due to the sugar in the tang (it will also cloud the beer).

Uh, maybe you missed the part where he said he's using Sugar-Free Tang? :D

I did miss that. But then he also needs to consider that unless the beer finishes up pretty dry, he needs to be careful to not over-sweeten the beer with the artificial sweeteners in the tang. It could be hard to drink if too sweet.

Sounds like an interesting beer - could add a little spices to make it like a wit. It will probably have an orange head from the tang.

He has me thinking of adding some tang to a chocolate porter to get that chocolate / orange thing going.

Oh, I'm taking notes. I am going to drive this beer pretty dry so that I don't make a killer sweet drink. Even if I do, this isn't really for beer nerds and more towards the college girls that frequent the Heritage tents.

I would love this beer to have an orange head.
