|
|
Here are some select photos from Augie's Rye Pale Ale brew today at O'Fallon Brewery for the Heritage Festival. The brew went amazingly well. I think we netted just over 16 barrels of a mighty good beer. In addition to Augie, myself and the guys from O'Fallon Brewery, Mark Naski and Gary Burke made an appearance as well.
Sorry about all of the dust halos in some of the shots. As you can imagine, it's a dusty atmosphere in a brewery!
Augie, Dave, Brian, etc., I will get you all CD's of all of these pics, so don't think you need to save these size-reduced versions.
Augie starts the milling process at 7:30AM.
Augies new brewing system...at least for the day.
Doughing in. (note grain going into hydrator) Ahh, steamy!...good for the skin!
Brewmaster Brian Owens supervising Augie in mash mixer mode.
The unglamorous job of raking the spent grain out of the mash tun.
Augie drawing off some yeast from a fermenter of 5 Day IPA. How many yeast cells are in a 5 gallon bucket?
Big smile as the first Simcoe hop addition goes in. Cha-ching, cha-ching!
The ultra sophisticated yeast dosing technique at O'Fallon Brewery.
(L to R) Brian Owens, August Altenbaumer and Dave Johnson. _________________ Give a man a beer, and he wastes an hour. Teach a man to brew, and he wastes a lifetime.

That's some sweet stuff!! Wish I could have been there, but alas...I was at work...which kind of reminds me of the cleaning of the mash tun!! _________________ http://eberhardtbrewing.blogspot.com |

Here's an article that was on the front page of the Food Section of yesterday's St. Charles Journal. More great press for Augie and the club. Hey, recognize that picture from anywhere?

And just in case you want to taste some before the Heritage Festival head on down to Ciceros. They tapped their kegs last night!
And what I feel should be the new tag line.

Great, I didn't get credit for the print OR online version of the photo. _________________ Give a man a beer, and he wastes an hour. Teach a man to brew, and he wastes a lifetime. |
