BREWERS FLEA MARKET
Do you have brewing equipment or supplies that you no longer need or just want to get out of the house?
Are you in the market for brewing equipment / fermentation gear / bottles / kegs?
Come to the St. Louis Area Brewers Flea Market.
When: Sunday September 27, 2009
Time: 12:30 until 3:00 pm
Where: The parking lot of The Tap Room
(2100 Locust)
If you have items you wish to sell –
Show up no earlier than 12 (Tap Room Opens)
Bring your own table and chair
Price your items before you get there
You must clean up your area completely before you leave - take all your trash with you when you leave!
If you wish to buy –
Please show up around 12:30 (no early birds)
Bring cash
Great for new brewers
There may be some free items too (who knows)
Note: Please limit items to beer or brewing or fermentation because this is not a general flea market
Please tell all your friends and anyone who may be interested. The more people who show up, the more successful it will be for everyone involved. We need lots of sellers and buyers.
There is no cost to sell (no booth fee). But you must completely clean up your area when you are done - NO exceptions.
NO ALCOHOL IS TO BE SERVED OR DISTRIBUTED AT THIS EVENT (If you want a beer, buy it in the Tap Room)
See you there!

Thanks Bob!
I've posted this in the homebrewing section of STL Hops also. |

I sent it to Mike Sweeney already.
Please inform all homebrewers about the event. |

There will definitely be some free stuff there. I'm bringing a trunkload (cases) of bottles to get rid of - both wine and beer. (unless someone comes to my apartment to get them first... ). I'll have some grolsch style bottles to move cheap and likely other odds and ends once I figure out what I can live without.
Are we going to have a brewing demonstration at the event?
I don't see any rules on "commercial vendors"...are brew supply shops allowed to set up booths too? |

No homebrewing demo at this event.
Feel free to inform any and all homebrew supply shops. They are as welcome as anyone to set up a table and sell items as long as they clean up their area when they leave (at 3:00 PM).
All sellers - remember to bring some "change" for people buying items.
All buyers - bring cash (no promises that anything but cash will be accepted) |

I have a prior commitment and can't come to the flea market. However, I am looking for a bottle tree and a 15.5+ gal kettle. _________________ moshowme@aol.com

Thanks to all who came out to sell and buy. I counted about a dozen people selling at the peak and I would say there were 3 or 4 times that shopping.
For the most part, I think it was a success. I know I sold 75% of the things I brought, and it looks like everyone else was at least that successful.
We got started right at 12:30 and by 1:15 almost everyone was sold out or close to it!
Maybe we can do it again next year! |

This was a great event! It looked like everyone that was selling sold most of the items they brought by the time I was leaving, which was 12:45. Let me say that again...
A majority of items sold in 15-30 minutes.
If you were on the fence about selling any old equipment or how many potential homebrewers would show up to buy, you should know that people were chomping at the bit to get stuff.
I hope this happens next year with a little more hype and a lot more sellers.
It'd be even better if Schlafly was selling their AIPA in the parking lot. |

As good as that AIPA was, the dry stout on cask was better, but then all the beers at Schlafley's get better and better. I'm looking forward to next years sale also. _________________ On Tap

There were some really good deals there, and some not so good deals. To be honest I was really surprised at the caliber of stuff that was for sale since I thought most of the items would be aimed at beginners. March pumps, really nice brew kettles and mash tuns, CO2 regulators, cornie kegs, grain, the jockey box I got for $40 and the More Beer unused mash paddle for $15, and tons of other stuff. If you missed it you really "missed it".
I could see this event being held in the spring and fall, not just once a year. _________________
