Brewer's Cup - Indiana State Fair

Man this is an expensive one, and 3 bottles to boot. Anyone have some words of encouragement about it? I'm thinking I might skip unless someone has some info I missed.

Well, we usually have a couple judges that go up that way, so we may be able to get our medals back sooner...there's a start!

Sean, are you and Larry hitting this one this year? I know Larry has gone in the past, but didn't know if he was going again...or if you were going this year or not.

Give the man some encouraging thoughts!! :D

John Brandt and I are planning on making the trek again this year. Dave Roesch was talking about it too. I don't know about Larry. It was a great time last year. This year, I'm keeping an eye on the entry deadline so I can get some beers into the competition as well. The deadline is a full month before the event, so it can fool you. I am also going to try to talk a couple of the local commercial brewers into getting an entry in. I know the O'Fallon Brewing guys were interested, and I think Florian at A-B might be a go too.

We would be more than happy to accept any medals and bring them back with us.

I'm not happy about the increase to three bottles this year either. The $8 entry fee isn't great, but it looks downright cheap compared to the Microfest! Also, it makes our HHHC look like a bargain.

When is it? The fairground is just down the street from my inlaws...I'm I'm around and can go, I will.

Entries accepted from June 14th through June 28th
Judging on Friday, July 11th and Saturday, July 12th

Dr. John and I have a similar deal, his sister and brother-in-law live fairly close to the fairgrounds, so we have free lodging, which allows us to bring back some of the $100 stipend that they give to out-of-town judges. Less this year with gas the way it is, but at least we come home with a little beer money left.
