Who's going to the Longshot Comp, how are you getting there?

Postby BeerGuy » Tue May 13, 2008 10:29 pm

Who's all planning on making the trek up to the Longshot Competition on June 6-8 in Chicago? How are you getting there?

I'm trying to figure out how I'M getting there.

Has anyone heard from the organizers yet about whether or not we're in as judges? Lodging confirmed? Etc?

Give a man a beer, and he wastes an hour. Teach a man to brew, and he wastes a lifetime.

I believe Dan S. was heading up that part.
Currently I am planning on riding up with Dang.

I'm interested in judging and would most likely drive up myself. I'd have room for a couple of people in my car.

I'm going up. Not sure if I am going to drive up, or jump in the car with one of you crazies.

I might not have gotten my judging request sent in on time. If I'm accepted I'll be driving, if not I'll be drinking here.

I'm going. I'd like to hitch a ride with someone. I'll share expenses (and share driving if necessary.)

OK Guys,

I have sent Joe an email requesting details for the judges. Here is what I know.

The Longshot will be held June 6 and 7th at the Lisle Hilton, Lisle IL (same venue as last year). I remember that the hotel was great and the food was very good and plentiful.

As far as car pooling is concerned here is what I can gather from your posts:

DanG - Driving
Jim K.
Sean S.

Anthony - Driving
Open car

Augie A - May be driving
Open car

Need ride still:
John B.
Larry W.
Ben K.
Rick C.

Brian Drecksage - Driving
Can't take passengers due to his schedule.

Please confirm with me that you are driving and how many passengers can fit in your car.

Thanks,

Dan Stauder

Joe Formanek sent out an email this morning saying that they still need a few judges for Longshot. So, there is still time to get in on this sweet deal.

Cheers,

Nothing here, and I'm a bit unwilling to make plans to go until I get confirmation.

That's my main concern.

Dan S., As president, I know you are flooded with the common man's requests for details, freebies, celebrity guest appearances etc. :P I have no problem taking the lead on this and bothering those guys if you want to forward me Joe's (or whoever's) contact info.

As it turns out I am free that weekend... If they are still in need of judges I'd be down for going.
