Postby zimman » Mon Nov 28, 2011 3:06 am

Hey everyone,

Just wanting to ask if any of you have tried this brew yet? I personally have not however I wanted to get some opinions before I try it out.

Take care

Personally, I think it is just a maltier version of Michelob. Nothing spectacular, in my opinion, but drinkable...

Interesting article. They don't want to be known as a craft brewery. Sounds like they're planning to produce more than Sam Adams within a couple years. Pretty unusual strategy for a startup brewery to target the BMC crowd.

Just purchased a 6-pack.

I would agree, light beer, full malty taste with little or no hops. Kinda sweet with a bit of esters??? Esters in a lager is different for me..... reminds me of a malty ale......

Not going to be a favorite but its a fine commercial beer.

They are going after the Bud crowd who are pissed off about the Inbev buy out.

Not a bad strategy if you are in it for the money only.

While that makes sense locally, most people I know outside of St Louis couldn't care less that In Bev bought AB. I bet they're hoping to take a good chunk of the St Louis crowd first followed by good word of mouth to other markets. Either way, I'm pretty interested to see how the next few years play out for them.

Tried the Kraftig light last weekend at Christmas. Pretty decent for an American light lager, certainly more flavor that a bud light or miller light. Not going to be something I'll drink regularly but if someone hands me a free one I'll drink it.
