Is there a recipe for the microfest summer ale?
"Nunc est bibendum!"

I think you are referring to an arbitrary catagory in the competition. The "summer brew" would include wits, hefe's, light beers with fruit, basic easy drinking thirst quenching beers.

Will the standard categories stand, or are they grouping them into larger catch-alls?

I REALLY wanted to judge this competition, but I'm going to be out of town. Hell I'm already trucating my trip to try and make the picnic. Then again, with the airline issues these days, I might be lucky to just make it back for microfest at all.

Standard Categories apply. Since this is a small competition we just need the 5 groups. It is way too small of a competition to accomodate all categories.

Okay, I was thinking that there would be a single recipe that everyone would brew. . .

We need all the help we can get judging. Simply show up at the Schlafly Taproom, 21st & Locust downtown at a little before Noon on Saturday, May 31st. If you have an entry that you are hand carrying in, please show up a little earlier, so we can get it checked in and organized.

BTW, there is a larger post about the Microfest Competition in the "Competitions" section of the forums.
