Barrel Group Brew - Lambic

Postby StLBeer » Wed Nov 19, 2014 3:50 pm

Kent's oak barrel brewing group is looking for 1 or 2 more all-grain brewers to round out the next fill.

The next fill will be a lambic. We're still working on a recipe. We are hoping to empty and refill the barrel by mid-December.

Current participants and volumes are:
Kent R. - 10G
Tim F. - 10G
Steve O. - 5G
Steve B. - 5G
Ted S. - 5G
Chuck C. - 5G
Paul M. - 5G

We're currently at 45 gallons. Adding a couple more brewers will let us fill this out. This will likely sit in the barrel for a year or more.

Who's in? We're still working on a recipe, but a turbid mash has been discussed. Old noble hops are suggested.

I would be glad to contribute 5 gallons.

Sounds like a turbid mash would make a good tech topic for a meeting.

Yes, the last brewer completed his portion this past Saturday.

Save those hops - there could be something else coming along.
