Does anyone know if these are available locally? I'm making a gruit.

If not, I'm putting in an order at Northern Brewer. Let me know if you want to split shipping.

There is a place in Deer Park Plaza that should have these. I believe its called Mystic Valley, they have a wide range of herbs.

Sweet Gale and Heather Tips are available in the Brewer's Garden line of beer ingredients, and St. Louis Win & Beermaking carries this line. Call to be sure they have them in stock.

When I brewed my gruit, and grew the mugwort. Grows like a weed.

My gruit contained Marsh Rosemary, and got it from this herb seller on the internet: http://www.wildweeds.com

They also have the Mugwort, Sweet Gale and Heather Tips.

Seriously after judging a few often less herb complexity is better. Too many flavors can often become a train wreck (= muddle of undefined and conflicting flavors). Focus on two or three herbs/spices that are compatible with the base beer.

Thanks for the advice Larry. I'd like to be able to sample the individual herbs before picking out my blend. I may have to go to the head shop that Dale recommended.

Dale, kids today probably don't even know what a chillum is or what it is for. (No fair googling it now) All that progress from the 60's and 70's has gone up in smoke and is now forgotten, literally. And what bus was that you were supposed to be on or off?
