Planning to fire up the 2 BBL brew system and brew a batch on Saturday, January 5, 2013. Looking for brewers to help out on brew day and split the wort. Still need to decide on a recipe but thinking something Irish like an Irish red ale or stout.

What: 2 BBL Group Brew
When: Saturday, January 5
Where: Kent's place near Defiance

If interested, reply here or email me.

Yes, Jonathan please join us. Glad to have you watch and/or participate.
Looks like we will brew a dry Irish stout.
Still need brewers to split up the sweet wort. We will fill your sanitized fermentor.

I will start at 6 am but you can arrive at any time.

We do have 30 gallons of sweet wort available for any StL Brews that want to join in.

Kent,
I am in. I should be able to take close to a 1/2 barrel off of your hands (or more if needed). What do you need?

Yes, we do have 30 gallons available. If you take 15 gallons, then we will have 15 gallons of wort remaining. You will just need to bring sanitized fermentor(s) for filling. You will also need to aerate / oxygenate your wort and then pitch your yeast.

Cheers,

I have some family plans that came up but would still like to try and pick up the 5 gallons of wort that I promised to pick up. When would be a good time to pick that up? I would love to stay and help out with the brewing but unfortunately I cannot. Thanks.

We should have the wort cooled and filling fermentors by 6 pm on Saturday, Jan 5th. We will need your sanitized fermentor preferably prior in the day or you could drop if off at the Fenton shop on Thursday, Jan 3.

Putting together final details on the 2 BBL (65 gal) brew for Saturday, January 5th.

What: 2 BBL Big Brew – Classic Dry Irish Stout (recipe attached)
When: Saturday, January 5th
Where: Kent’s place near Defiance

Planning to get started at 6 am and have sweet wort filling fermentors by 6 pm -- you can arrive anytime.
So far we have 5 brewers planning to brew, help, clean, watch and/or receive the sweet wort.
We have 10 gal (2 x 5 gal) of uncommitted sweet wort that needs to find a home.
If interested, please reply here, send me a PM or email me for details. You will need to provide a sanitized fermentor to fill and you will need to aerate/oxygenate your wort and of course pitch the yeast of your choice. Easy as it gets.

If there's any still up for grabs, I'll take 5 gallons. I won't be able to commit to being there the entire day, but I'll definitely be able to swing by for a bit.
