I lost my brew buddy today

Postby StLBeer » Wed May 14, 2014 4:29 pm

Early this morning I had to put the family dog down due to extreme illness. She was my brewing buddy always hanging out waiting for uncrushed malt to fall while being milled and waiting patiently for a taste of the warm spent grains.

My condolences on your loss. Pets are sometimes like family members and to lose one is very difficult and having to make the choice to put one down is sometimes even more difficult. Raise a glass to remember your brew buddy and will do the same here.

I'm sorry, Paul - no matter that it was the right thing to do, it still leaves a big empty spot.
I set out running but I take my time.

Thanks guys. If you've ever been over to brew with me then you got to meet Lucky. She was a rescue dog that my son got when he was in second grade. Tonight is the first time he'll return from college and she won't be here to greet him.

It's amazing how we let these creatures into our lives and how effected we are when they pass.

Having had to do the same thing, it is difficult to lose a family pet. Sorry for you loss, Paul.

So, so sorry to hear that. I've got a similar arrangement with my dog, and can't imagine your loss.

I'm so sorry Paul.
Teaching that does not promote learning makes as much sense as brewing that does not promote drinking.

So sorry to hear your loss. It is so hard to lose a pet and even though I have lost a few, it is never easy.

Thanks for the notes, guys. Anyone who's had a pet at one time or another has probably had to endure the loss of that pet. This isn't the first pet we've lost due to old age and ailments either. We get over it and go on, but it's never easy.
