Spring Friendship Brew 2017

Postby rsc3da » Thu Mar 02, 2017 2:59 pm

Hey everyone, at tonight's meeting I will be passing around a sign-up sheet for the Spring Friendship Brew. The Spring Picnic is at this time set for mid to late May. As far as styles I am thinking any BJCP beer style from the 2015 guidelines that is roughly 5% ABV or less. I will list all the possible styles in another post.

You will need to specify your preference if you wish to be a lead brewer or not, basically this means that you will be the brewer that is in charge of anything relating to this event for your team. You can choose whether or not to do the actual brewing at your house on your equipment or not, it is up to you and your team. Teams will consist of 3 to 4 brewers each. We will have teams randomly chosen.

If you cannot attend tonight's meeting but wish to be involved in the Spring Friendship Brew, I need to know this so that I can make sure you get added. Please let me know preferably via PM on this forum or over our Facebook group.

Here are the teams for the Spring Friendship Brew 2017, these teams were randomly chosen out of a hat :D

The first member on each team is the lead brewer of that team.

Team 1 Mike Walters, John Garrett, Robert Betz, Al DeBolin
Team 2 Eric Smith, Vic Krylov, Darrel Nolan
Team 3 Ryan Crump, William Nordmann, Brian Foster
Team 4 Kent Roberson, Matt Klaus, Andy Laidlaw
Team 5 Dan Dudenhoeffer, Kevin Dill, Peter MacKercher
Team 6 Mark Rempe, Jay Weidler, Nick Mincoff
Team 7 Jason Mueller, Kevin Ogden, Dave Massay
Team 8 Josh Aune, Ken Bonser, Jeff Muse

We are set for May 20 as the date for the spring picnic, so there is still a good amount of time to get with your team members and brew.

Nah left out on purpose. Didn't think there would be enough time for anyone to do a lager.

Just brewed a Friendship Vienna Lager today with Andy and Matt. We'll have it ready for the Spring Picnic in 10 weeks. Cheers!

So Kent was asking about jockey boxes and it brought up something probably need to cover. Yes the jockey boxes will be there but thinking only a total of 8 beers can be served through it, since we're looking to have more than 8 friendship brews at the picnic a few of the beers will need to be served through a separate system. If you can bring your system complete with ice and cobra head taps or whatever it'd be a good idea otherwise 1 or 2 of the beers may not be served.
